Wandering in Taipei

Posted: June 3, 2011 in Travel

We spent the first part of today wandering around downtown Taipei and getting re-acquainted with the sights and smells of Taiwan. Here are a few photos of some people and things we saw on our outing.

One of my favorite keepsakes from my time in Taiwan is a business card from a cab driver (in case I forgot something inside the cab and needed to call later…) and the back of the card said, “Thank you for your patronizing”. I love love love Taiwan!

Love how the English attempts just seem a bit off. Is that the original Iron Chef guy in the coffee ad? Guess as far as the recreational pursuits, just gotta do that on the sidewalk. And, if you’re in the grocery store, isn’t it all DIY unless your at the Ukrops hot food section?? 🙂

And did you notice the Hello Kitty snacks say “Made in Italy”?

  4. Cindy says:

That’s fine by me. . .the Pepperidge Farm cookies we bought at that store were made in the US, and I’m very happy to see them in a grocery store in Taiwan 🙂

So.. I can only imagine how you feel. We stumbled into an asian grocery store here and it was interesting. It was very similar to the one we experienced in Atlanta (the H? Market?)
