Travel update: Hotels

Posted: May 11, 2011 in Adoption, Taiwan, Travel

Just a quick update on our travel planning. . .we have just about finalized our travel itinerary for Taiwan. We have decided on our hotels, and hope to have everything booked soon. We plan to stay at the Dandy Hotel in Taipei for the first few days in Taiwan (this is formerly the Feeling Hotel, which has now been renovated and is under new management).

Shangri-La's Far Eastern Hotel, Tainan

We will head to Tainan the day before we meet our son at the orphanage. That night, we plan to stay in the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel. This hotel comes highly recommended from a few other adoptive families. I’m looking forward to staying there.

Once we return to Taipei, we will be staying at the W Hotel near Taipei 101. Normally this hotel would be WAY out of our price range. . .but we are taking advantage of credit card points to save money. I loved Taipei 101 and the area around there. This hotel is also convenient to an MRT station (Taipei’s subway system).

An adoptive family recommended the website, agoda.com, for making hotel reservations in Taiwan. We used this site to book the hotel in Tainan, and it seemed straight-forward enough – hopefully there won’t be any snafus with our reservation.
