Home Study Visit – Done!

We just finished our visit with the social worker for our home study update.  This meeting was with a new social worker, so we were a little apprehensive about how everything would go.  It went really well – I think we probably asked her more questions than she asked us.   My husband said today that our adoption has actually been good for our health and our finances – because our home study requires medical checkups and a review of our financial picture. I’ll admit, though, it was a little depressing looking at our finances this time around, since we have lost money in our 401K and stock accounts.  But at least now we know how much money we don’t have.

Someone told me that he’s referring to his 401K as a 201K, as it’s worth about half of what it used to be… haha.

  2. Terry says:

I can really understand what you are going through! 😦 We are in the same boat and will probably be updating our homestudy in a few months too while still waiting for a referral. You are right, waiting does keep you healthier and watching your pennies. After the holidays it’s time to cut back on the treats and concentrate on building stamina for all that walking around Taiwan! Keeping the Faith that a referral will come ~ soon!!!!!

  3. Sarah k. says:

WOO HOO on getting the visit done!!! Too cool! I am sorry about the 401 k.. the bright side is that you have one.. lol…!!!

  4. Sara says:

Congrats on the paperwork beginning and getting more questions answered… and looking on the bright side of things even when the 401k looks like a really long 3k up hill both ways race. “Adoption Journey Humor”… seems only possible to understand when you’re on the inside, huh? … annual doctor visits become highlights of a wait. I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and let me know if you need anything.

  5. Judy says:

can’t believe it was time to do an update already… think of you often, just no time to do anything else after both children are in bed.
