We have travel dates – our forever family day will be Thursday, September 17! We booked our airfare tonight and we are excited to officially be in countdown mode. Dave and I want to spend a few days sightseeing in Taiwan before picking up our little man, so we will be leaving on Labor Day. I can’t wait! We were able to schedule our flights so we will fly EVA Air from Newark, NJ to Taipei, and return the same route. That means our connecting flight home will be less than two hours. (The flight from Taipei to Newark is a long haul at 14 hours, 40 minutes.)
I also sent off our third care package to our agency last week. In this package, I included several onesies (short-sleeve and long-sleeve); a teething toy; a crab rattle and more photos of our family in a soft booklet.

I spent last weekend organizing our kids’ dresser drawers, packing away clothes that are too small for our kids and pulling out clothes that I think will fit our little guy when he gets home. I found a helpful guide on eBay the other day and thought I would pass it along. I’m using the height and weight measurements we receive each month from our agency to guess our son’s clothing size. I wish I had found this guide earlier…I finally understand the difference between a size 4 and a size 4T. (Click here for the guide.)
On the adoption front, we’re still waiting to hear about our travel dates. Stay tuned!

Good news – we have just received word that the court has issued the first part of our final decree in our adoption case! Our agency estimates that we can pick up our son in late August or early September – the sooner the better! We’ll hear more specifics in the next week or so, I hope. As you can imagine, we are thrilled about this news! God is so good!
