Watching intercountry adoption visas decline in our country is very disconcerting. According to the UN, there are 140 million orphaned and vulnerable children in the world.

It makes me cross when finding homes for precious children becomes a political landmine. Children deserve to be loved, cared for and accepted and if we were truly not biased then surely country of adoption, culture and nationality would not make a difference. Are we more concerned about maintaining a child's culture or origin at the cost of losing their hope and destiny for the future.
